Extra DVD Ripper Express is a simple application developed to help you extract the content from movie DVDs and save it to various video formats.
This tool can not only rip actual DVDs but also process DVD folders. Anyway, the option to fast forward to the main movie title is enabled by the default, and this will block the start of the conversion in most cases, as the tool will wait for the main movie title to be discovered before allowing the conversion to start. When a DVD folder is selected, this might never happen, so you have to go to “Settings” and disable this option. It would’ve been nice if the program had warned me somehow about this issue and not let me discover it by myself, after many unsuccessful conversion attempts. Besides this, I was also a bit annoyed by the fact that it produces some sounds when hovering the mouse cursor over the buttons representing the output profiles, and these sounds cannot be disabled. Furthermore, the interface cannot be resized or customized. Unlike other similar DVD ripping tools that also provide basic video editing options like video cropping, Extra DVD Ripper Express lacks such features. As you can see, it initially looked like a promising tool, but unfortunately, it ended up proving to be quite flawed and disappointing. There are plenty of other DVD rippers on the market that come with fewer problems, same advantages, and even better prices.
